GroupLock
Social Guardian · scope and privacy

A review you choose—not invisible monitoring.

Social Guardian helps eligible GroupLock users organize selected material and ask a linked Family organizer for support. It does not connect to or continuously inspect outside social accounts.

Effective / version: 2026-08-31-social-review-v1

What is available now

You can manually submit a short observation or excerpt, a source link, up to three PNG/JPEG screenshots, selected concerns, and a participant count you observed. You can save a label for an online space to organize related reviews. These labels are manual references, not authenticated connections. iOS and Android share-sheet integrations are not active in this release; use the in-app form.

What GroupLock cannot see or do

It cannot see messages you did not submit, secretly read a phone, recover disappearing content, verify a participant's age or identity from a screenshot, identify every member of another chat, or block or remove someone on another platform. No social passwords, login cookies, notification-listener permissions, hidden screen recording, or scraping are requested. Any future integration will need its own verified capability, platform approval where required, and a separate disclosure.

Who receives a review

A review is private to its submitter by default. An eligible Family member can explicitly share one review with the Family organizer identified on the form. That person receives the selected content, screenshots, concerns, and review responses—not access to other reviews or chats. The recipient is a Family organizer; this alone does not verify a parental or custody relationship. Sharing is checked against current Family membership on each request.

The owner can revoke sharing or delete a review. Revocation blocks new access; it cannot erase material a person already saw or copied. Being an application administrator does not itself grant access through the Social Guardian screens or review API.

Analysis limits and notifications

A limited English-language rule set can flag text patterns and separately records concerns selected by the submitter. It is not a clinical assessment, a calibrated risk score, proof of abuse, or a safety guarantee. Screenshots and linked pages are not automatically analyzed. No submitted material is sent to an AI analysis provider by this feature.

Sharing adds an in-app alert for the chosen Family reviewer. Email and push notifications are attempted where available without including the excerpt, screenshot, or outside chat title. A provider handoff does not establish that an email or notification was delivered or read. Acknowledgment is recorded when the reviewer explicitly acknowledges it in GroupLock.

Minimization, security, and retention

Submit only material you have authority to share and remove unrelated names and identifying details. Do not upload passwords, identity documents, or sexual images of anyone under 18. Images selected through the form are re-encoded on the device to omit source-file metadata and names. PNG/JPEG file signatures, types, sizes, ownership, and review authorization are checked. Private screenshots are not placed on a public CDN.

Reviews, responses, screenshots, and linked review-history entries expire after 30 days. Access stops at expiration and scheduled cleanup removes expired records and private objects. Unsubmitted uploads expire after 24 hours. Saved-space labels expire 90 days after their last review update. Delete controls are available sooner. Account deletion removes owned reviews and uploads. Database or provider backups follow GroupLock's broader retention policy.

Children under 13 and emergencies

This release does not accept Social Guardian submissions containing personal information about children under 13 and does not activate their independent or supervised social-review access. A separately reviewed consent, child-safety, retention, and supervised-device workflow must be completed before that collection is enabled. A parent's checkbox does not replace that process.

Social Guardian is not an emergency dispatch or a continuously staffed safety-review service. An urgent label or help request does not contact law enforcement or guarantee someone is watching. Speak to a trusted adult directly; for immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Read the safety steps.
